When I review the passages of time,
retrieving hours long lost in memory,
I read once more the pages of my prime,
and I relive a life that used to be.

I think about the girl who changed my life,
those precious courting hours that we once knew.
That special day when she became my wife,
the times we shared, I live them all anew.

But now my summer’s gone and winter nears,
the golden days have all but passed me by.
Her photograph just fills my eyes with tears,
as I recall our very last goodbye.

Though time has come and taken her away,
I pray to God we’ll meet again one day
